Hemp wraps are paper sheets that are made using hemp. They are used to roll or wrap legal herbs into convenient joints for smoking.

Currently, you can find two different types of hemp wraps available on the market produced by manufacturers -- a flat, paper sheet that appears like a rolling paper or blunt wrap, and a hemp wrap that’s pre-rolled into a cone shape, often stuffed with legal smoking herbs.

Who uses hemp wraps and for what?

Hemp wraps serve as a great alternative to the most popular method of wrapping and smoking legal herbs -- blunts. They are a great alternative to blunts because they are free from nicotine.

The hemp blunt wrap is a hemp wrap made for burning smooth and slow, which entices any herb smoker. These slow burning wraps are now popular among smokers who are concerned with the dangerous additives in typical nicotine blunt wraps but still want a slower and more flavour-filled burn.

Blunts have been stigmatized on two fronts by legislators and the media for their association with cannabis use and for containing nicotine. California became the first state in the United States to band flavoured blunt wraps, and then Massachusetts banned their use. Undoubtedly, many other states will soon follow suit.

Previously, the United States cigar industry also saw attacks on flavoured cigars and had to follow the strict rules of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regarding such items. Legislators also banned flavoured rolling papers for use with tobacco, but these are now legal to be used only with legal smoking herbs.

Do hemp wraps get you high?

The answer depends on what you put in the hemp wrap. Using cannabis with a hemp wrap will get you high. If you’re putting other non-psychoactive herbs or tobacco inside your hemp wrap (and not cannabis), you won’t get that cannabis high by smoking hemp wraps.

Hemp wraps do not contain THC(tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. However, if you add THC later into your hemp wrap, it will certainly get you high.

Hemp in its primal form may contain traces of CBD (cannabidiol) and THC. Because of confusion related to ingestible CBD, many manufacturers don’t use CBD in their hemp wraps. CBD is known to have many therapeutic benefits. Scientists and researchers have proved it be highly-effective in the treatment of pain, depression, anxiety, chemo-induced symptoms, sclerosis, and many more illnesses with no, or few, negative side-effects.

But it has not been proven that hemp wraps containing CBD offer the same health benefits.
